Track 1–On the streets of Ikebukuro, Tokyo
(The elevator’s doors close.)
Kagura: “Four briefings tomorrow morning at 10, then a demo-listening session with Tadokoro for the festival...”
“We’ll be short on time... I’ll never make it to the assembly meeting at 2…”
“Aaah... If only someone could replace me for a day...”
“What am I saying… No sane person would ever agree…”
(The elevator’s doors open on the building’s hallway.)
Kagura: “What do I do… I could expedite my last briefing and make a run to Tadokoro’s office...”
Kairi: “You’re seein’ Tadokoron? Awesome! Mind if I catch a ride with you?”
(Kairi puts his hand on Kagura’s shoulder. Kagura immediately slips away from his grasp.)
Kagura: “!? HAH!??!”
Kairi: “Wassup, pain in the butt. Feels like forever since I last saw ya.”
Kagura: “Ku-Kurahashi!? What on Earth are you doing here!?”
Kairi: “BAHAHA! Did I spook you? I sure hope so! Dun’ worry though I didn’t worm my way in, just told the concierge I was family an’ they let me through.”
Kagura: “I care little about the formalities—weren’t you supposed to be on the other side of the world!?”
Kairi: “I kinda missed Japan a wee-bit too much, so I came back without telling anyone!”
Kagura: “Pardon?”
Kairi: “Ain’t that rad? I totes feel like a blockbuster protagonist clandestinely making my way back to motherland.”
Kagura: “What about work!? Does your manager know about this?”
Kairi: “Nyeheh, can neither agree nor deny.”
Kagura: “I’m certain they’re fuming as we speak… Do you even know what you’re doing? Are you aware of the consequences your actions will have!?”
Kairi: “Didn’t really think ‘bout it, but I’m sure I’m gonna be fiiine~”
Kagura: “No you won’t, you nonchalant fool… Your status here is vastly different than before our graduation! What if your fans notice you...!?”
Kairi: “I’m aware, I didn’t book a hotel room all willy-nilly. ...That’s precisely why I’ll be moving in for a bit!”
Kagura: “ Wh–”
Kairi: “Tut-tut. No one’s expectin’ me to live in a teeny tiny flat here. You’re basically the only person I can stay with safely.”
Kagura: “Pause. When you said you were moving in… Did you mean in my house? With me?”
Kairi: “Yeah, that’s what I had in mind. Oh, and just so you know, I won’t cook nor clean. So? Where do I put my luggage?”
Kagura: “...Is this some kind of twisted joke?”
Track 3–Kagura’s Flat
Kairi: “There’s someone I want’cha to meet though! An honour to let’cha in my small circle, really.”
Kagura: “And who is it?”
Kairi: “A good pal o’ mine. I met him on the day I came back to Japan actually.”
Kagura: “Wasn’t that barely a few days ago? I don’t know about this... That could be any troublemaker out in the streets... I hope he’s not bad news…”
Kairi: “He’s normal, trust me! He’s real charming too, an’ just a sweet guy overall!”
Kagura: “You and I have different definitions of normalcy, and I tend not to trust yours... I’ll be the judge of his character once I meet him in person.”
Kairi: “I knew that’s what you were goin’ to say, so I invited him over!”
Kagura: “TODAY!!?? What happened to asking permission? You didn’t even warn me beforehand...!”
Kairi: “Chill, it’s just a guy, it’s not the end of the world.”
Kagura: “It is to me!! I need time to mentally prepare!”
(The doorbell rings.)
Kairi: “EEK!! OH MY GOD!!! He’s here.”
Kagura: “What I feared has become reality…”
Kairi: “Nyehehe, c’mon. Let’s go greet him.”
Kagura: “Ugh… You’re so painfully oblivious to proper manners, you’re the last person I’d want to hear that from...”
(Kairi and Kagura unlock the front door.)
Chihaya: “Hi there~”
Kairi: “Heya, what’s up Chiichan!”
Kagura: “Ch-Chihaya…!?”
Chihaya: “There’s no way...”
Kagura: “How– Why are you at my door?”
Chihaya: “Yikes, that’s crazy. Now that’s a situation I’d never wish upon my worst enemy~”
Kairi: “What’s the hol’up? Don’t tell me you knew this killjoy before li’l ol’ me?”
Chihaya: “Sort of. We’re not exactly friends, but we’re not totally family either, fell me?”
Kairi: “No???”
Kagura: “Kurahashi… How and why did you befriend Chihaya of all people...!?”
Kairi: “Wai-wait! Hold your horses an’ help a guy here, I’m not following!”
Kagura: “That’s my brother.”
Kairi: “YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!?”
Track 2–Seashore
Kagura: “Do you like the sea by any chance?”
Kairi: “Like every other guy, I guess.”
Kagura: “I personally love it. Looking at the ocean brings me peace.”
Kairi: “I know. ...I mean, you’ve told me about it before.”
Kagura: “I’m surprised you even remember it.”
Kairi: “It wasn’t a hard question either~”
Kagura: “... ...Is that the reason why you came back?”
Kairi: “What? Naaah~ I didn’t return home for you or anything, your Kairi-kyun was craving good seafood real bad, that’s it~”
Kagura: “...I never thought you would care this much for me.”
Kairi: “As I said, I didn’t come for you–”
Kagura: “Kurahashi, can I ask you something?”
Kairi: “Huh?”
Kagura: “I know you weren’t completely honest with me a few days ago, so tell me: why did you come back? I want the truth, not your half-lies.”
Track 5–Building Rear Entrance
Kagura: “Chihaya, listen to me: you must quit your part-time job immediately.”
Chihaya: “...What? What’s up with you now?”
Kagura: “You're born to write music. You have the talent to excel at it.”
Chihaya: “That again? ...Didn’t I tell you to stop bothering me with your ideas already? It’s just something I do on the side to kill time, it’s nothing serious.”
Kagura: “If that’s the standard you show by “just killing time,” you could surpass my own skills if you took music more seriously.”
Chihaya: “Huh!?”
Kagura: “I mean what I said.” “If you find enjoyment in making songs—if you like music at all, then you should embrace the path you’re meant to follow.”
Track 7–Airport
Kairi: “See you soon then! Let’s say... In a good five, ten years~?”
Kagura: “Didn’t you have enough already? I don’t want to see your face in these parts of the world ever again. This is our final farewell, you fool.”
Kairi: “Fuhaha, playing hard to get, hm? Gosh, I haaate that side of you.”
Kagura: “Fantastic news then: the feeling is mutual.”
