If someone asks what Aika's birthday party looked like, one would say "wild". Wild in the sense that the party is just starting but every one is either tipsy or in between tipsy and drunk.
Page and Rai were one of the first people to arrive at the venue but were one of the few who are still sober.
"I was not warned enough that our college acquaintances are these wild." Rai whispered to Page as she dawned her third shot for the night.
The two were seated at the VIP couch along with Aika, who's roaming and greeting people around probably tipsy at this point as she accept shots from her guests, then at the left side is Jun, who has a high alcohol tolerance and is holding a bottle of Jack Daniels while also holding a glass of whiskey and refilling it to give it to Soonyoung who's almost passed out at this point.
"Soons, are you still okay?" Page who was beside ask half shouting because of the loud music.
Tumango lang si Soonyoung sa kaniya habang tumatagay parin sa inaabot ni Jun.
"Where's Wonwoo?" Page asked Jun when she noticed that he's out of her sight ever since their arrival a while ago.
She felt odd by his mood actually because the moment he arrived with Soonyoung, he's been quiet and became aloof with her. As much as she's worried, she doesn't want to pry also specially after their message conversation this morning. Maybe Cheska had something to do with it.
As she roamed her eyes looking for the guy with glasses, she instead spotted Joshua looking out of place at one of the bar stools. Di niya ata namalayan na dumating na pala si Shua because she was busy entertaining some of their acquaintances.
So Page made her way to him to which made Joshua almost jump from his seat when he spotted her walking towards him.
"To say that I was looking for you was an understatement." He heaved a sigh of relief dramatically holding his chest as if seeing her is the only thing he looked forward too.
"You could've texted me. I'm sorry if I was not able to entertain you kaagad." Page replied feeling guilty because first, Joshua is not familiar with most of the people at the club and second, she was the one who asked him to come.
She ordered a margarita to the bartender before facing Shua again who's now sipping his beer.
"You still look sober ha, I thought I'll see you whining already." He joked which earned a slap on his shoulder from Page.
"Gago! Di naman ako light weight." She started and sipped on her margarita.
"There are three stages before I get drunk." Page showed her three fingers and continued.
"First, if I'll have around three shots of whatever drink it is, I get talkative like really talkative. Maybe from the booze, it gives me a chance to be more confident in talking to people. Next, I shut up when I feel the alcohol is already eating my system to the point I'm in the middle of wanting to puke or find something to chew on to avoid myself from vomiting. And lastly—" Before she could continue her words natigilan siya when her eyes found someone at the corner of the club, looking out for someone.
It's Wonwoo.
Wonwoo was leaning on the wall at corner of the club, holding a glass of whiskey, two buttons of his dress shirt were open, his hair was slightly a mess as if he's been brushing it up a couple of times, and his eyes, his eyes that were solely focused on someone.
Not her, but at Cheska, his ex.
Joshua noticed the pause from Page kaya naman he followed her gaze and he's not wrong, it's Wonwoo whom she's looking at.
Joshua has always noticed the way she looks at him. The moment the three of them were in one space, he's familiar with that look from her eyes, he experienced that a couple of times.
The look of affection.
Joshua knew that too much because he always looks at his ex like that too.
Affection that is never reciprocated.
Joshua noticed that Page eyes sparkles when Wonwoo is around, the look of comfort, relief, and someone you like.
But for Shua, Wonwoo's eyes is the opposite.
Wonwoo looks at Page like she means the world to him but a look of pain because he knew he's still in love with someone else. Shua too, experienced that.
Shua noticed that Wonwoo is very fond of Page but not in the sense that he would cross the line and break his walls for her, it was the kind of fondness you give to your friends. But he's not the one to judge, it's just based on his observations from the times he was in one room with them.
So when Page, tried to stand up from her seat Shua immediately stopped her.
He shakes his head because he knew the moment she'll go to him, she would crumble.
"Page, dito ka na lang." He held her wrist but Page held his hand to stop him also.
"He needs me, Shua." She said, but from the tone of her voice, she' hurting.
Wonwoo's attention was all over Cheska who in return didn't noticed his presence.
Cheska was talking and laughing with her friends, her back facing Wonwoo kaya hindi niya talaga makikita and the club is dark kaya hindi mo talaga makikita yung ibang tao dito.
Cheska did noticed Wonwoo when she arrived at the club but she paid no mind to him. Tapos na sila, at hanggang doon na lang. She's happy with her current love life now, and paying attention to Wonwoo is like betraying her lover.
"Page, you'll hurt yourself." Joshua said again before Page could continue what she's about to do.
"Alam ko yun, Shua. I know I would but I'll still choose to do it. For Wonwoo." She said and strides her way to Wonwoo.
