You know that feeling when you're positive that things are starting to fall into its right places then suddenly it gets shaken and you don't how to piece it back together?
And for Gayle, it's a mess right now.
Akala niya na ang mga araw na darating ay masaya at malinaw. Pero ibang klase nga naman kumilos ang tadhana.
So when she received that text from the hospital, she started shaking, phone at the floor, tears flowing, and starts to look for something to lean on or more like, someone.
Collecting herself, she picked up her phone which has a little crack in the screen already and texted the person she needed the most right now, Wonwoo.
But there's no reply.
So grabbed her car keys with shaking hands, until she remembers someone.
Joshua.
As she types in, he replied immediately.
Joshua sees her as he opened the car door for her but instead of going for the passenger seat, she went for a hug, a tight one.
Umiyak lang siya and Joshua lets her.
"What happened?" Joshua tapped her back as she sobs in his arms.
Kailangan niya munang pakalmahin si Page or she'll crumble pagkarating nila doon sa hospital.
But he didn't get any response from her instead she continued to cry. Her shoulders shaking and Joshua's shirt is probably damp from her tears but he didn't care. She needs someone right now.
"Kuya needs me." She said in between sobs.
Tumango si Joshua and let her took her time to process everything.
At ng medyo kumalma na si Page, they drove to the hospital where Jeonghan was admitted.
Akala ni Page kaya na niya but when she saw her brother, lying on the hospital bed of the ER, covered with bruises and blood, his neck supported by a brace, and different medical apparatus connected to his body, she fell in her knees, tears flowing uncontrollably.
"Are you the family?" The doctor and a nurse approached her.
Hinawakan siya ni Shua sa magkabilang balikat to support her weak and tired state.
"I-i'm his sister." She said weakly and the doctor nods.
"We will conduct a CT Scan on the patient, to see if there are any internal injuries or internal bleedings caused by the accident, specially in the head. It seems that the accident caused a huge impact on the patient's head." The doctor started.
"Ma'am we will try our best to save him, but I'm telling you in advance, let's prepare ourselves for the worst." The doctor frankly told her.
Kung mahina na siya kanina parang hindi na siya makagalaw ngayon.
Joshua held her tightly as she grips his arms for support and guided her as she walks towards her brother.
"Kuya." Page held Jeonghan's numb hands, number than hers.
"Kuya, please. Kayanin mo." She cried again.
"Kuya, andito lang ako. Hmm? Please, hang in there." She caressed his hand and brought it to her cheeks stained with tears.
Alam niyang di siya naririnig ng kuya niya but she hopes that her cries and prayers will be heard from above.
Joshua's heart breaks as he watches the sight in front of him. Page is and will always be a good friend and a special person to him.
She's always bright and radiates a very positive energy everytime he sees her. She can light up and lift someone's mood just by her presence but this? This side of her is something that makes Joshua want to protect her in all ways possible, may Wonwoo man o wala.
Speaking of Wonwoo, he wondered if alam na ba ni Wonwoo ang tungkol dito.
"Page, upo muna tayo doon." Joshua whispered when the doctor came back reminding them that Jeonghan will be transferred to conduct the CT Scan.
They sat at the waiting area while waiting for Page and Jeonghan's parents to arrive.
Umalis muna sandali si Shua para bumili ng tubig sa vending machine kaya Page is alone at the moment.
While she aimlessly spaces out, her thoughts all over the place, she receives a message.
At kung masakit na yung puso niya kanina, parang mas piniga pa ngayon.
"Bakit ngayon pa, Wonwoo." She speaks and cried harder.
